Lighting the Path: Building Egress Safety Live Webinar Course
This one-hour course examines the need for photoluminescent lighting systems in commercial building stairways to provide safe emergency exit pathways without electricity. Current code, testing methods, product options and layout planning will also be discussed during this AIA/HSW-accredited course.

Learning Objectives
By completing this course, the design professional will be able to:
  • Explain the importance of pathway illumination to the life-safety of building occupants and how it aids in making a safe and speedy egress out of a building during emergencies
  • Provide an understanding of why a safe luminous egress system plan is required
  • Identify when and where these requirements are necessary in building products, based on the 2012/2015/2018 IBC and IFC codes
  • Discuss UL 1994 and ASTM E 2072 test standards and explain how luminous egress markings must comply to meet current building codes
  • Create a strategically laid out plan with product options
